۱۰٫۹٫۲٫۲ Critical moisture content
The critical moisture content is the average material moisture content at which
the drying rate begins to decline. A prototype drying test should be conducted
to determine the critical moisture content. In Fig. 10.2, point B represents the
constant-rate termination and marks the instant when the liquid water on the
surface is insufficient to maintain a continuous film covering the entire drying
area. The critical point (B) occurs when the superficial moisture has evaporated. In
porous solids point B of Fig. 10.2 is reached when the rate of evaporation becomes
the same as obtained by the wet-bulb evaporative process.
